This document is provided to inform you about your participation in this study. Please read the following information regarding the procedures, risks, benefits, and confidentiality of the study in which you are about to participant. You will be given an opportunity to ask questions after you have reviewed this document.
Participation in this study is completely voluntary. If you would like to end your participation at any time, you may do so with no risk to you.
1. Purpose of the Study
You are being asked to participate in a study in order to understand differences between race and gender roles on body image.
2. Procedures to be followed
You will be asked to complete on online survey that asks questions about demographic information (i.e., age, gender, class standing, family income), questions about the way you view your appearance and your body, and personality traits associated with masculinity, femininity, and androgyny.
3. Foreseeable risks or discomfort
You may experience some slight discomfort when answering survey questions. If you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you may discontinue the survey at any time. 4. Benefits to Participants
You will contribute to the body of literature on social variables related to body image. You will receive no monetary compensation for participating in this study. You will however, be entered in a raffle to win a $50 Visa check card.
5. Alternatives to Participation
If you do not wish to participate in this study, you may withdraw your participation at any time.
6. Confidentiality
All information used in this study is confidential. Your name will not be recorded on the survey. You will be assigned an anonymous code number and your replies will be unknown. We assure you that any reports about this research will contain only data of an anonymous or statistical nature. Your name or identifying information will not be used.

9. Voluntary Participation
